Press Release

February 14, 2018—SELCO Community Credit Union and Its Members Raise $15,000 for Oregon Charities in Month of January

Fifteen worthy nonprofits were beneficiaries of the months-long SELCO Cheer drive

(EUGENE, Ore.) — SELCO Community Credit Union and its members raised $15,000 for worthy charities across Oregon during its month-long SELCO Cheer member appreciation event, which ended on Jan. 31. Throughout the month, SELCO members were randomly selected to receive $100, and then pick a local charity from a predetermined list to receive a matching $100.

The list included 15 charities, each representing the communities SELCO serves. In the Eugene/Springfield area,

Jasper MountainFOOD for Lane County, and the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life received a combined $8,100.

“The SELCO Cheer member appreciation event gives us an opportunity to not only thank our members, but get their help in directing SELCO donations to charities that make a difference in our communities,” said Laura Illig, Vice President of Marketing.
