SELCO Hires Jim Harty

Press Release

August 14, 2019—SELCO Community Credit Union Hires New Portland-Area Vice President, Commercial Loan Officer for Commercial & Business Banking

Jim Harty brings more than 25 years of lending experience to SELCO

(PORTLAND, Ore.) — SELCO Community Credit Union recently hired Jim Harty as Vice President, Commercial Loan Officer for its Commercial & Business Banking division. Harty will serve in SELCO’s Forest Park Branch, working with business owners and investors to refinance or purchase real estate, including ground-up construction.

In Harty’s 25-plus-year lending career — mostly in the Portland area — his roles have ranged from SBA lender/underwriter to conventional commercial lender specializing in real estate finance. Before joining SELCO, Harty was a lender at Riverview Bank in Portland for 15 years.

“We’re delighted to have Jim on our team,” said Conrad Johnson, vice president, commercial loan officer for the Portland region. “Jim’s vast and diverse lending background, as well as his longstanding footprint in the Portland business community, will be a true asset as we grow our support in Oregon’s largest commercial real estate market.”

Harty served in the US Navy and was stationed in San Francisco. He then went to college on the GI bill and earned his Bachelor of Arts from Southern Illinois University. After graduation, Harty lived in San Francisco for more than 10 years and started his lending career there, before moving to Oregon in 1989. In his free time, he enjoys abstract painting, swimming, walking, and cycling.
