SELCO Community Credit Union Named to Forbes’ 2022 List Of Oregon’s Best-In-State Credit Unions

Press Release

For the second time in three years, SELCO honored in nationwide survey ranking credit unions on overall customer satisfaction and sentiment

(SPRINGFIELD, Ore.) — For the second time in three years, SELCO Community Credit Union has been named one of the top five credit unions in Oregon by Forbes as part of the influential business publication’s 2022 list of Best-In-State Credit Unions.

Of the more than 5,000 credit unions evaluated nationwide, only 171 — including just five in Oregon — were named Best-In-State, placing SELCO in the top 3.4% of credit unions in the country. SELCO was also named the top Oregon credit union in Forbes’ 2020 list of Best-In-State Credit Unions.

“To be ranked in the 96th percentile of all credit unions in the country, and in the top five of all Oregon credit unions, is a tremendous honor,” said Bob Newcomb, SELCO President & CEO. “More importantly, it is a testament to every one of our employees, who live our mission to improve the social and economic position of our 146,000 members."

Forbes and Statista, Inc., the world-leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider, asked approximately 26,000 U.S. consumers to rate credit unions at which they have or previously have had checking accounts. In addition to making recommendations based on overall satisfaction, participants also assessed credit unions in the areas of Trust, Terms & Conditions, Branch Services, Digital Services, Customer Service, and Financial Advice.

“We’re especially proud knowing this recognition is thanks to the very members we serve,” said Tiffany Washington, SELCO’s Executive Vice President of Finance & Operations. “Our success as a credit union is directly tied to our members’ ability to achieve their goals, and the Best-In-State award is a reflection of the importance we place on helping them reach those goals.”
